What does the acca checker do?

You enter the matches and selections on your slip and the odds you were offered. For each leg we show our estimated chance, the fair odds that chance implies, and whether your price is above or below it. For the whole slip we show the combined chance (1 in N), the combined odds and the expected value per £1.

What are fair odds and value?

Fair odds are 1 divided by our estimated chance, with no bookmaker margin. Value is our chance multiplied by your odds, minus one. A positive number means your price is longer than our fair odds, a negative number means it is shorter. It is an estimate, and it can be wrong.

Why does my acca look so unlikely?

An accumulator needs every leg to land, so the chances multiply together. Four legs that are each 70% likely land together only about 24% of the time, roughly 1 in 4. The bookmaker's margin also compounds across every leg, which is why accas are hard to beat over time.

Why is a leg marked as not rated?

We only rate selections that our model prices: match result, double chance, both teams to score and goals over/under, for upcoming matches in the leagues we cover. Anything else, or a match that has already kicked off, is listed as not rated and left out of the totals. We never guess a probability.

How the acca checker works

For every leg we compare your odds with the price our model thinks is fair. If you are paid more than fair odds the leg has positive value; if you are paid less, the bookmaker's margin is taking a bite. Multiply the leg chances together and you get the chance of the whole acca, which is almost always lower than you expect.
